Warm Coastal Living: A Thoughtfully Reimagined Renovation
Located in a coastal suburb near the beach, this renovation centred around completely rethinking the home’s layout to create a stronger connection to the outdoors and a more intuitive flow for everyday living.

The original configuration no longer suited the way the home was being used, so the design approach was bold yet considered — the floorplan was quite literally flipped. Bedrooms were relocated to the front of the home, allowing the kitchen, living and dining areas to move to the rear, where they now open directly onto the backyard. This transformation has created a much more natural connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, filling the home with light and enhancing its sense of openness.

At the heart of the home, custom Prime Oak timber joinery brings warmth and quiet sophistication to the kitchen and dining spaces. The full-height cabinetry provides generous storage while maintaining a clean, streamlined aesthetic. The Verona Gold Quantum Quartz benchtop introduces subtle movement and softness, complementing the timber tones and reinforcing the home’s relaxed coastal character.

Skylights above draw in natural light throughout the day, further enhancing the airy feel of the open-plan living zone. A built-in dining banquette maximises space while creating a welcoming setting for everyday meals and entertaining.

The bathrooms continue the home’s refined yet understated palette, featuring neutral stone finishes that feel calm and timeless. Sculptural vanities and textured glass detailing add depth and interest while maintaining a sense of softness and cohesion.

The result is a warm, cohesive coastal home — thoughtfully redesigned to improve flow, embrace natural light and create a stronger connection to the outdoors, all while balancing comfort with understated elegance.
